INSTALLATION :: RENTAL HOME

Last week we moved a client into a three story rental home in Virginia Highlands. Their move was very quick, so we needed items immediately off of the showroom floors. Since this was a rental home, we tried to make each space as neutral as possible, adding color with pillows and accessories. We incorporated their own artwork and a few furniture pieces. It was a whirlwind, but was so rewarding to provide a comfortable, livable space for our clients while they rent.

INSTALLATION

Our clients have finally moved into their new home that you saw here and here. A huge thanks to the entire team for working together to finish this project as smoothly as possible! We have enjoyed every minute of the process, and we will certainly miss the team moving forward. Also, thank you to our clients. They have been so much fun to work with and we are excited to provide them a fabulous house they can call home.

There are still a few finishing touches, but for the most part the house is up and running. Check out some snapshots of the progress so far -

IIDA DRESSED 2013

This year’s IIDA Dressed theme was World Events throughout the Seasons. We were assigned First Human Flight and immediately pinned down Spinneybeck, Filzfelt, and Corporate Environments as our sponsors. The event is always so rewarding when your hard work comes to life on the runway. All of the teams' creations were incredibly inspiring this year.

Wings!

We drew our inspiration for the wings from Leonardo da Vinci's schematic drawings, while incorporating vintage glamour and elegant detailing with the leather and the felt. Our theme was technically associated with the season fall, so we chose blues and whites you would find in a fall sky as our color palette.

Jason Smith, owner of Smithworks Iron, volunteered his time to create the most fabulous, show-stopping wings for us. These pieces elevated our garment to another level and we are so grateful for his help this year. Spinneybeck contributed all of the leather for the garment, helmet, and boots, while Filzfelt donated the felt. Filzfelt also saved us valuable time by CNC cutting all of the felt feathers for us with their new CNC cutting machine.

Thanks again to all of our sponsors who provided material and took the time to help fabricate the dress. And a big congrats to all of the firms on their hard work this year! Voting for People's Choice Award is up on Facebook so please take the time to follow the link and "like" our photo for a chance to win!

KITCHEN RENO :: BEFORE & AFTER

We are wrapping up a kitchen renovation that has been a fabulous transformation. The original layout and design was not functioning for our client, as well as not aesthetically pleasing to her, so we came in and reworked some things to meet her needs.
We designed custom cabinetry, a custom hood by Smithworks Iron, new quartz and soapstone countertops from Bottega, and beautiful hammered polish nickel hardware from Matthew Quinn. We are still waiting on the cup pulls to match the knobs, the kitchen island pendant, and the roman shade before we finalize accessories, but you can tell the impact we have made by these before & after photos -

RENOVATION UPDATE

We can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel on our renovation job. Construction started in April, and is due to wrap up here in August. This has been an exceptional project, and we are excited to share some photos with you.
First of all, Design Galleria has done a fabulous job on all of the cabinetry. All plumbing and tile was through the always gorgeous Waterworks, hardware from Matthew Quinn, Lighting from Design Lighting Group, countertops from Marmi, and construction by Berndsen Custom Homes. Once all spaces are completed we will have photos up on the website ASAP. So stay tuned...

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Now that the trim is up, the floors are down, and the cabinets are being delivered, we can see the vision of our new construction job coming together. But this week we had the opportunity to get a sneak peek of our custom hood design by Smithworks Iron. It is important to bring the actual hood out to the site before completion in order to get a sense of the scale and whether or not it is in proportion with the rest of the kitchen. So here are a few snapshots of the progress -
