We are beside ourselves with excitement over this month's issue of Interior Design Magazine. Our work on the Kids II corporate headquarters is featured with a wonderful article that outlines our creation. It was an honor to be apart of the team that brought this vision to fruition.

Westside Wednesday

For the past few months we have been walking past the new Billy Reid location on our way in to the office. Billy Reid is originally from Mississippi and draws his inspiration from the deep south that is so familiar to us Atlantans.

The retail stores all have a very distinctive design to them - they reflect Reid's upbringing and the Florence, AL flagship store actually houses many of his family's heirlooms.

Each shop has really delivered that nostalgia of the American south and we greatly anticipate the cozy space that will be built out in Atlanta's first location.

Dex Studio Visit

This week we have some final selections for a few projects that are hovering over our heads. One of our residential clients has requested concrete samples and inspiration for their home. So Lauren took a trip over to Dex Studio, who is known for their concrete countertops, and was pleasantly surprised to find some more good stuff -

Our favorite part was obviously the multidimensional wall tile that Dex creates. It is such a cool alernative to ceramic tile. They can really do anything from stair treads to table tops to kitchen/bar counters to sinks and tubs. Concrete is completely customizable since you can sculpt, mold, and texturize it however you would like. It is also a material that can easily blend in to several spaces. We are very excited to start designing more with concrete.

Today we stumbled across this exciting plumbing line. Plavisdesign is a forward thinking Italian brand that provides modern plumbing fixtures and furniture. Their pieces push the envelope of design and get our hearts racing -

Their creative use of materials is the most interesting part of the whole line. The name of this sink is perfect - the combination of the shape and wood grain reminds us of an ant farm - a very sleek and beautiful ant farm.

When designing, we consider plumbing to be one of the most crucial and valuable components. This is such a great line because of it's versatility and creative design. We would consider this for several different styled homes, and hope that we'll be able to specify it soon.

Westside Wednesday

Many of you may or may not know that our office is located in the White Provisions building on the West Side. It's the perfect location that is always buzzing with activity. We find it only appropriate to keep everyone updated on what's happenin' on the West Side every week -

The new lululemon storefront has finally been revealed and they should be opening their doors any day now. We are itching with anticipation for this grand opening, although our wallets can already feel the pain....

As with any lululemon store, we expect a space that will draw us in and keep us browsing for hours. Retail spaces have always been fascinating, and we can already tell that this one will not disappoint.

Holly Hunt

One of the greatest joys we find as designers comes from new textiles. We live and die for our product lines, and nothing gets us more excited than a new addition to our resource library. Jerry Pair was so kind to drop off our new box of Holly Hunt fabrics today. What a great way to keep ourselves organized and up-to-date....

Not only are hide rugs/walls great to look at, but they are also extremely durable. There is a misconception that because it is hair on hide that it would be easy to damage, but that is not the case.
We were so excited to have walked into this fabulous breakfast party to discover one of the coolest products we've seen in a while.... We will be dreaming of ways to use hides tonight.
