It is so nice to have a laid back Friday after two very hectic weeks. We've got the music going and are drafting interior details for a few clients. We hope everyone has a relaxing holiday weekend!

LAST WEEK IN A NUTSHELL

Sorry for the absence last week. We have been going, going, going, so here are some highlights -

We stopped by to check on the progress of one of our new construction projects. Framing is done, electrical and plumbing is in and we are getting pretty pumped  -

Quite the leather spread. Their colors are so rich and vibrant, they have great capabilities with the laser etching and stitching, and we love their patterns.

On Friday we had some last minute pieces delivered to SIS. They moved into the old Kids II space, and we helped with some new finishes. Red and orange shag rug please!

HAPPY FRIDAY

We are pulling together a few schemes and concepts for a small law firm in town. They sent us some inspiration photos of very elegant office spaces that ultimately sent us in this direction -

we are excited to add a little drama with dark finishes, bright walls, and hopefully a little sparkle

LOVE this Philip Jeffries rivet wallcovering. The silver accents work perfectly with the grey tones. Also, don't you love that Foscarini light fixture?

HOLLAND & SHERRY

We were so lucky to have Jerry Pair bring by the Holland & Sherry collection for us to take a look at this morning. They are known for their wools, which are used by luxury tailors and brands, like Dior, but also carry the most gorgeous interior fabrics. From cashmere to felt wool to linen - it is the best. Not to mention, they are a small company that has complete control of their mill and each step of the process - we as designers looove this.

We were drooling over the Mica embroidery, which can be done with leather (shown here) and has that interesting cut-out detail -

we adore Holland & Sherry and actually used several fabrics in Atlanta Capital Group's space, which was inspired by the client's business suits -

They seriously have the most impressive capabilities. They will custom color, custom embroider, you name it, quickly and beautifully. Yay convenience! We ordered several basic books and new samples for our library, and will be anxiously awaiting their arrival.

MAKEOVER :: HOME EDITION

We have had our own personal project lately - a bedroom makeover for Melanie's daughter! After a grueling interview process, she hired us to be her designers. We pitched our design ideas, took in her comments, and have created a super fun little girl's room.

Priority numero uno - hot pink. Number two - a headboard with storage. She had seen a headboard at Ikea that she loved, so we ran with that concept. We went next door to see if our friends at Knoll had anything lying around. Luckily for us, there were these 2 perfect white shelves that we could use as the side towers. From there, our friend Buck Cunningham masterminded the whole deal -

We took the dimensions to Tecnosedia, where they upholstered a piece of plywood with some white linen. We feel so resourceful -

All-in-all it was an adventure! We had a blast thinking outside the box to create a piece of functional furniture for Melanie's daughter. And with a little blood, sweat, and wine we were able to provide an exciting new look for the new school year.

SCOTT'S

Yesterday we made the trip down to Scott's Antique show. It was a great opportunity to take one of our clients around to search for some pieces. As usual, there was a TON to see....

INSTALL UPDATE

We reupholstered these club chairs and ottoman with Kravet fabric and Edelman leather

In the living room we reused a few existing pieces, as well as brought in some new like this custom coffee table by Kevin Scanlon

Scheming for downstairs on the terrace level - we are obsessed with the 'H' Jim Thompson No.9 fabric!

We darkened the walls on the terrace level and added some fun orange elements. The new coffee table is yet to arrive

Our client has wonderful taste, she just needed to bring it together. We love taking spaces to another level by adding those special pieces that really showcase our client's personal style.

 

WESTSIDE WEDNESDAY

So we are a little early on this one, but after our amazing experience at the tomato festival, we want to give everyone ample time to plan for this event. On September 9th, Taqueria del Sol will be putting on their third annual Hatch Chili Festival celebrating the arrival of spicy peppers from New Mexico.

We have to admit that Taqueria had one of our favorite dishes at the tomato festival. Needless to say, our expectations are high and we are very excited. It's all you can eat, cash bar, and live music. 

Besides, it's Taqueria - they can do no wrong. Mark your calendars!

WESTSIDE WEDNESDAY

Do you have Olympic fever like we do? Ever since last Friday we can't tear ourselves away from the television. All of these sporting events have our competitive spirit at an all time high... Luckily Ormsby's is hosting their own Olympics this Sunday from 1pm-5pm. Come join the games - bocce, darts, pool, shuffleboard, skee-ball, pinball, pacman - and the Olympic fun!
